Thank you for taking the time to listen to this album. We put a great deal of time and effort into creating it, and are very proud of what it contains.
As musicians, the work that we have each put into our personal and collective growth has been motivated by this concept: a well-constructed collection of original music that expresses the ideas most important to us.
Playing this music becomes a completely different and vastly more affective thing when one ventures outside the realm of learning what is taught in lessons and school. For each of us, this album represents the first substantial instance of creating an entire product based on our own feelings and values. We spent more than a year playing together workshopping original music, improvising freely together, getting to know one another, and developing a band sound that we thought was meaningful and unique, before deciding to create this album. When we left Airtime Studios the night of our recording session, the excitement and joy we felt exceeded words; the unanimous feeling was that the experience was among the most fulfilling of our musical careers.
Our most sincere thanks to Chris Alexeev for recording us and mixing those recordings, and Kate Siefker for mastering. Thank you to Jake Belser for his expertise and guidance while polishing our final mixes and masters. Thank you to Jenny Umhoefer for creating our gorgeous album cover. Also, thanks to Wayne Wallace, Steve Houghton, Jeremy Allen, and Devin Drobka for advice on post-production, distribution, and all the other aspects of releasing an album outside of actually recording the music.
We sincerely hope you enjoy this.
